If you suspect your partner may be cheating but don't have proof, consider these subtle indicators.

No woman wants to consider the possibility of an unfaithful partner. These five warning signs can help determine if your man is displaying suspicious behavior.

Change In Appearance

A man who has recently developed new taste in clothing, loses several pounds or changes other parts of his appearance may be having an affair. Perhaps the other woman suggested that he cut his hair or shave his mustache. If he is dressing differently for work, there may be a coworker he is trying to impress.

Pulling Away

All relationships go through varying degrees of closeness but if your guy seems to be pulling away or isn't as loving as usual, there may be someone else in the picture. Most men find it difficult to feel passionate about two people, especially early in a new relationship. Distance can also be used as a shield, protecting him from detection.

Acting Guilty

Showering you with affection and attention, giving gifts for no reason, complimenting you more frequently or helping more around the house may not be an indication of an uncharacteristically sweet partner. They could be a sign of a guilty one.

Secretive Behavior

Reluctance to include you when he is going out with friends or displaying odd behavior in the company of a particular girl at work could be clues that your partner is straying. Other indications are whispered telephone conversations, calls taken outside or suddenly becoming overly protective of his cell phone.

Disappearing or Unreachable

If your man is disappearing or you notice he is frequently unavailable or evasive about where he has been, there is a possibility that he may be cheating. Suddenly having difficulty getting in touch with him, finding his mobile phone turned off during times you can normally reach him or asking you not to call because he will be in a meeting could be an sign that he is with someone else.

If you suspect your partner may be cheating, don't do anything rash. Avoid confronting him while you are angry and try to keep an open mind. There may be a logical explanation for his behavior. Find a time when the two of you can be alone, talk openly about your feelings and give him the opportunity to explain his behavior. At the same time, trust your intuition. Most women recognize when a man is hiding something and nearly everyone can sense when something is wrong or "off."
