If you believe your partner is cheating, these five strategies can help you gather evidence and learn the truth.

Has your partner recently had several unexplained absences? Have you noticed hushed phone conversations? Do you have a feeling in your gut that something is just not right in your relationship?

Nothing can cause more hurt than unfaithfulness. If you suspect your partner may be cheating, you don't need to hire a private investigator. These five strategies can help you learn the truth and find peace of mind.

Change Your Schedule

Make a point to mention you have plans on a specific day to your partner. On that day, cancel the plans, supposedly at the last minute. Pay close attention your partner's reaction and whether or not he or she disappears to contact his or her significant other.

Monitor the Cell Phone Bill

Review your partner's cell phone bill and note any numbers you do not recognize which have been called repeatedly. Keep track of the times the calls were made, how long they lasted and whether they were made during working hours or before or after work. Any suspicious phone numbers can be entered into an online site such as the White Pages where you can learn the name and even the address of the person the number is registered to.

Set a Trap

Often, a cheater will make plans with his significant other when his regular partner is out of town. To set a trap, tell your partner you are going away for a few days. You may actually have to pack a suitcase and act as if you're leaving home to make it appear authentic. Once he or she thinks you're gone, slip into a neighbors house or park your car close by and watch. If your partner is cheating he or she may not come home at night or may even bring the person he or she is cheating with into your home.

Pay Attention To Your Partner's Driving and Work Habits

If your mate pays for gas with a credit card, scan the bill looking for an increase of gas purchases. You can also monitor the car's odometer to see if there are any additional or unexplained miles on the car. If your partner claims to be working late, review his or her pay stubs to verify the additional hours. Keeping track of overtime and mileage on a calendar is also an excellent way to track patterns of behavior.

Use a Keystroke Logger

A keystroke logger is a type of software which keeps track of the keys struck on a keyboard so that the person using the keyboard is not aware their actions are being monitored. Although it is illegal to install a keystroke logger on another person's computer, if you and your partner jointly own a computer, one can be installed without repercussions. You can download a free keystroke logger at actualkeylogger.com.
