You can increase your psychic ability and become skilled at psychometry by practicing this simple exercise.

Psychometry is the ability to "read" vibrations or energy on an object by holding it in your hand or placing it against the middle of your forehead. Using psychometry, you can learn more about another person, a situation or particular event.

Developing Your Psychometric Skills

This exercise can help you to develop your psychometric skills. To complete the exercise you will need an object provided by a friend or relative. This will allow any information you receive to be validated and help you to recognize psychic messages.

  1. Ask a friend to borrow an object from someone you do not know.
  2. Sit in a comfortable position and take a few deep breaths. Concentrate on your breathing as a way of centering yourself and opening your intuitive channels.
  3. Hold the object in your hands or against the middle of your forehead. Don't worry about whether you are handling it in a "right" or "wrong" way. Do what feels comfortable.
  4. Close your eyes and concentrate on the images your see and any emotions you feel. Focus on recognizing information which can be confirmed by the owner of the object.
  5. Begin speaking out loud about what you see and feel. Have a friend write down your thoughts as you say them. Although this may initially feel awkward, don't worry about sounding silly or unbelievable. Just allow the words to flow from your conscious mind. Be confident that you are reading the object and that the information you are receiving is accurate.
  6. If you have trouble receiving images, ask yourself questions about the owner of the object. Some sample questions would be: How old is this person? What color are his or her eyes and hair? Are they tall or short? What adjective best describes them? What is their favorite hobby?
  7. Continue asking yourself questions and speaking your impressions until you feel you feel you are no longer receiving information.
  8. Sit quietly for a few minutes to see if any other details come to light.
  9. Confirm your results with your friend. Discuss any points where you may have shown accuracy. For example, perhaps the owner of the object is enjoys knitting and you saw yarn.

Do not become discouraged if your impressions are not dead on or if you receive little or no information your first few attempts. Identifying what it feels like to be wrong can help you recognize the difference between an genuine psychic impression and those stemming from your imagination.

Learning psychometry is an excellent way to help develop your psychic talents and become more aware of clairvoyant messages we all receive on a regular basis. With practice, you will find your skills improving as you see or hear more detailed images or encounter fleeting memories or feelings.
