An aura is an energy field which surrounds people, animals, plants and objects. Read on to learn how to see, interpret and control your aura.

An aura is a type of energy which radiates around everyone and everything. It is composed of the molecules that make us feel solid as people, animal and plants or objects such as stones, crystals and water. The aura which surrounds a living being or object is permanent and remains with it throughout its existence.

Aura Shapes and Colors

Each aura has its own unique shape and color. Some have fuzzy or spiky edges, while others appear rounded and clearly defined. Auras are found in all colors of the rainbow. Each color is believed to reveal a person's emotions or personality traits. The shades of the colors vary depending on their mood or what they're experiencing in life. People who are able to "read" auras use their intuition to determine the meaning within the shades of the colors.

Seeing Auras

Children are born with the natural ability to see auras, but by the time they are five or six years old they lose this talent because they are told there is no such thing. While there are rare instances when adults begin seeing auras spontaneously, most find it difficult to overcome the early implanted belief that auras don't exit and struggle to relearn that skill.

Auras and Illnesses

The energy that makes up your aura represents your true self. It is believed that disease begins in our energy fields and is caused by physical or emotional imbalances and negative thoughts and emotions. Some researchers believe it is possible to detect diseases through an aura before physical symptoms appear. It is also believed that you can heal yourself by consciously controlling the energy your aura generates.

You can protect yourself from physical and emotional harm or deflect negative energy by strengthening the outer edges of your aura with colored light. Meditating while imagining yourself surrounded with white light will only allow positive energy to enter your personal space. Immersing yourself in blue or purple light will repel negative energy and picturing yourself encircled in red light will increase your physical energy and sexuality. Experiment with different colors to see which works best for you.

Being aware of your aura and caring for it in the same way you would care for your body is an excellent way to become more responsible for your physical and mental health, help you fight illnesses and maintain a high level of positive spiritual energy.
